箱根 ハイアット リージェンシー

　箱根の宿を探してみるとハイアットの評判が良かったので泊まってみました。朝食付１室２名で約３万円のスタンダードツインの予約でしたが、アップグレードしてもらってデラックスツインに。しかも、眺めがいいという東館４階でした。

　ここは２００６年の１２月に会員制リゾートクラブだったところをモルガンスタンレー不動産ファンドが取得後リノベーションし、ハイアットが業務受託しオープンしたようです。オープン後、まだ１年だけあってとてもきれいでした。

　吹き抜けで中庭に面したロビーでは中央に暖炉があり、それを囲むようにソファーが配してあります。宿泊客以外はほとんど出入りが無いため、客室以外でゆったりとくつろぐスペースとして一日中利用できます。このロビーでは夕方、ビールやシャンパンなどのカクテルタイムが設けられています。これがすごくうれしいサービス！暖炉の火を見ながらお風呂上りに一杯でき、とっても贅沢でした。寒ければひざ掛けも貸してくれるし、アルコール以外にもカフェオレなど温かい飲み物も用意してくれました。この日は木曜日だったため、バーの営業はなく、仕方なく夜のバータイムもこのロビーを利用しましたが、ラウンジ系のクラシックがかかってステキでした。一つ難点は暖炉が或るため、多少煙くさいことかな。

　客室はとっても広くて、テラスに面した窓からは紅葉した山が広がり最高でした！ベットに寝転がっても、ソファに座っても向こうの山が見れます。浴室はユニットバスタイプではなく、トイレが別にあり、日本のお風呂のようにバスタブ横で体を洗うことが出来ます。洗面、浴室周り全体に、ツルっとしたタイルではなく、素焼きっぽい肌触りのパネルが使われているのもあたたかさがあってよかったです。

　インテリアはモダンだけど寒々しい感じではなく、ダークブラウンの家具でまとめられており、落ち着けます。私はモダンなホテルは好みではないのですが、ここの感じは気に入りました。



　部屋ではDVDを借りたり（有料、種類は少ない）、オセロなどのボードゲームを借りたりでき、退屈しのぎになります。好みのDVDやCDを持参すればもっと楽しめるでしょう。

　レストランはディナーだと大体１万円からのコースです。私達はルームサービスを頼んで部屋でだらだらと。インド旅行以来、ルームサービスの気楽さがお気に入りです。

　朝食はメインダイニングで和食のセットか洋食のビュッフェのチョイスです。お得なのは洋食かな？そんなに豪華ではないですが、一通りのものはあります。

　大浴場も客室同様、広々清潔で、行く度に清掃が入った感じがあり感心しました。また、脱衣場もいつもきれいに拭かれていました。



　全体として大人が寛ぐに適したホテルでした。都内の外資系高級ホテルと比べても見劣りなく、宿泊料金から考えるとかなりの満足度でした。欲を言えば、近くに散策できるようなところがないのでプールとジムがあれば、連泊できます。（ｂｙ　夫）次回から、箱根ならとりあえずここかな。

I stayed at Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort and Spa because reputation of Hyatt was good when I looked for an inn of Hakone. It was a reservation of about 30,000 yen standard twin in one room in a night. The hotel upgraded it to the deluxe twin. It was east building the fourth floor that had a good view.
A real estate fund of Morgan Stanley acquired the place that was a membership system resort club in December 2006 and did a renovation. Hyatt undertook business and opened. It had been only one year after opening and was very clean.

The lobby faces the courtyard in a colonnade. You could see an impressive fireplace in the center of the lobby, and sofas are arranged to surround it. Because there is hardly comings and goings other than hotel guests in the lobby, the guests are able to use it all day as a space making them at home.
Cocktail time, you can drink beer or champagne for free, is arranged in this lobby in the evening. After hot spring bathing, I enjoyed drinking and had a comfortable time. If it was cold, the staff lent the serape and brought some hot drink such as cafe au lait .
The bar is closed on Thursdays, but the lobby is available, and functions quiet well as a bar also. They played classical music, instead of typical lounge music, and it fits wonderfully with the lobby décor. The only drawback I found was that the fireplace was somewhat smoky – which might be a plus to others, but it wasn’t for me.
The guest room is large and comfortable. We could see the fantastic mountain scenery from both the sofa and bed.　The bathroom combines a washroom and a separate toilet, which allows one to wash oneself besides the bathtub, Japanese style. It’s tiled with unglazed ones, giving it a relaxed feeling.　The room itself is designed for relaxation, with its dark brown furniture framing the window with its glorious view. The public bathroom was spacious, always clean, and with sparkling floors.
The hotel does provide DVD or board games like Othello for your in-room entertainment, but its selection is quite thin: You’d be well advised to bring your own.

If you have a dinner in the hotel restaurant, the course menu takes more than 10,000 yen (100USD). We ordered the room service, and enjoyed it at our pace. When we were in India recently, we came to appreciate room service, because it allowed us to eat at our own pace – and without those flies! Here of course we didn’t have that annoyance, but we found the 10,000 yen for a complete dinner money well spent.　
We took breakfast in a main dining room. We had a choice between the Japanese set menu and the Western buffet. The Western buffet is my recommendation: not so luxurious, but you can eat what you want.

This is a good hotel for relaxation. Who cares if it doesn’t have facilities like a pool and gym to keep busy? Well, my husband, for one! But I appreciated its calm and beauty., and both of us appreciated its cost, especially when compared to high quality, foreign-affiliated hotel in Tokyo. I’ll stay here again, next time I’m in Hakone.
